Quality Welsh Section A, C & Part-Bred
Ponies have always played a large part in our lives and our love of Welsh ponies and cobs has grown over the years. We have been fortunate to have owned some very special characters, initially Welsh Section A’s and B’s then later Section C’s. We fell in love with Section C’s after taking on a stallion to produce and show for a friend. Having always dreamed of breeding our own ponies, our dream was realised in 2003 when Merieston Stud was formed.
Situated near the South West coast of Scotland in the heart of Burns country, the stud boasts beautiful views of the Firth of Clyde and the Isle of Arran. Only 20 minutes from Glasgow Prestwick Airport and about 2 hours north of Carlisle by road and with good transport links, the stud is easily accessible. We aim to breed quality performance ponies that will be able to excel in any discipline.
